Over the greater part of its history the train has been green, so a er much discussion it has been deemed that green is the correct colour to use to paint the restored carriage. Colour decided, the question was then, what shade of green to select to paint carriage number 4 and to use for all subsequent restorations. As with all important decisions of this nature, HPHA turned to the authoritative source for guidance, and so thought suitable. Later it was discovered that during the restoration of the pier entrance, a selection of green was made which a er further discussion was decided to be better suited. e green nally settled on is normally named ‘Moss Green’, or in paint technical terms ‘RAL 6005’. HPHA will complete the restoration of carriage 4 as soon as the current health restrictions permit and return it to the track, allowing carriage 1 to be withdrawn for its restoration. Carriages 1and 4 arrived at Hythe in May 1922, painted grey, and began carrying passengers along the pier in late July. HPHA plan to celebrate the centenary in July 2022. the ‘Dulux’ colour chart book was opened to the ‘green’ page. Clearly, there are many di erent shades of green available! Wessex Heartbeat distributed fruit and vegetables to the Youth and Families Matter , Basic Banks in Totton and the Big Difference Meals initiative in Southampton, ensuring families across the region have access to healthy food choices this winter. Aided by the Rotary Clubs of the New Forest and Southampton, the distribution continued throughout February, as the Coronavirus pandemic saw more families across the region seek extra support. Tim Richardson, Rotarian with the New Forest Rotary Club said: “Helping leading charities such as Wessex Heartbeat is a brilliant way to combat the wider issues our community may face – particularly in these uncertain times. The New Forest Rotary Club would like to extend our gratitude to Wessex Heartbeat for their donation and look forward to working together again in the future.” John Munro, CEO of Wessex Heartbeat added: “Wessex Heartbeat is proud to support our local community, understand how donations can greatly impact the lives of others. A healthy diet, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, is a key factor in reducing your risk of developing coronary heart disease, reducing your risk of diabetes and high blood pressure. We understand how difficult it can be for many families to have access to healthy produce like this, so to have the opportunity to help is a great honour.” To nd out more about the Wessex Heartbeat and Heartbeat House visit: www.heartbeat.co.uk Hampshire Cardiac Charity’s Heartfelt Donation Provides Healthy Food for Local Families
