Hopefully, each committee member would then take on a more speci c role in line with their interests and abilities. For example, perhaps in setting up and guiding new groups or taking over responsibility for relating to service providers, building and garden maintenance or running the café (with the help of other volunteers). e Community Centre also needs to increase the number of wardens who act as o ce/reception and who are also the legally ‘responsible o cer’ when the centre is open. It’s not too onerous but being able to react to situations and liaise with the services if required. Volunteers are needed for xed and regular short periods through each weekday and potentially for occasional weekend slots. As a guide, the weekday slots would be 8am to 10am (including opening the centre), 10am to 1pm, 1-4pm (including closing the centre) and 6.30pm to (at the latest) 10pm (both opening and closing).
