Are you fed up with this Lockdown and are looking for a new challenge when restrictions are lifted? Why not consider joining one of the Praizin’ Hands puppet teams as a volunteer puppeteer or as a member of their stage crew? Praizin’ Hands Puppet Group is a local charity who visit schools, churches, care homes and take part in community fun days. Why not have a look at the Praizin’ Hands website: www. praizinhands.org.uk for more information about what they do? ey are currently looking for ladies to join their ‘Big Hands’ team and be part of taking the Christmas and Easter stories into schools and care homes, using puppetry. is team meet to rehearse on Wednesday mornings in the months leading up to Christmas and Easter in Langley, near Black eld and then spend 4 weeks doing performances. ey are also looking for young people (girls and boys), school years 7 to 13 to join their ‘Little Hands’ team. eir Youth team uses puppets and creative arts in church services and community fun days. ey meet every couple of weeks on a ursday evening in Langley, near Black eld and enjoy playing games, learning puppetry and creative arts, as well as having the opportunity to make new friends and take part in extra activities. If you feel puppetry is not for you, how about joining their stage crew to help with setting up the puppet hidden behind the puppet stage! Praizin’ Hands are ready and raring to go as soon as restrictions are li ed but please don’t wait until then! Following the appeal by Hythe & Waterside Rotary for donations of unwanted IT equipment 5 more refurbished laptops are now ready to be delivered to Applemore and Noadswood schools, making a total of 9 since the project began. ere are also 4 tablets to be donated to Hythe Primary School. “We are delighted to have been able to help the schools during this difficult time” says Hythe & Waterside Rotary President Ray Lewis. “Despite the current restrictions we are so pleased to be able to help the local community in this way”.
