A full-time mum of two, fur mum to Romeo, and caring wife Kells is part of the Lifeboat Crew at Calshot. Since early 2020 Kells is also a Community First Responder (CFR) in the New Forest area for South Central Ambulance Service. Wow! Kells dedicated her working life for 12 years to a hospice for children and young people, o en giving end of life care. You need to be an incredibly special person to do that job, and Kells certainly is! In 2018 a new adventure began. e opportunity came to move to the New Forest, and in less than a year the chance to join the RNLI crew arrived. In October 2019 Calshot were recruiting and Kells was straight in there! It’s a family a air with Mum Kells on the Lifeboat, Dad Justyn is the awesome Deputy Lifeboat Press O cer, son Alex has plans to join the crew as soon as he’s old enough, and daughter Imogen is already rocking those famous yellow wellies. Joining the crew with zero boating experience, learning her way to becoming crew the hard way, she shows everyone just what she is capable of. To then become a Community First Responder (CFR) Calshot RNLI lifeboat crew were sad to learn of the passing of Captain Philip “Tiffy” Pearce-Smith on 5th March 2021. Ti ywas a huge character among the local Search and Rescue (SAR) community. O en outspoken, he did not su er fools gladly, but he endeared himself to many with his kind heart and commitment to the cause. He dedicated a huge part of his life to the Venturers Search and Rescue Unit, providing opportunities to youngsters for many years. Some of the current crew even came through the Venturers ranks, and all will have fond memories and life skills to share from their time under his command. In later years, even with his health in decline, Ti y continued to ght for what was right and will be fondly remembered for his pleasant eccentricity and occasional visits to the station for a chat. To you Ti y, the crew wish you “Fair winds and following seas .” In Fond Memory of Captain Philip “Tiffy” Pearce-Smith The Late Captain Philip “Tiffy” Pearce-Smith just prior to the pandemic, shows her dedication. She soaks up learning like a sponge! Now with the skills and quali cations she has gained, Kells has become a cherished asset as a lifeboat crew member, getting out every day doing her CFR thing too throughout COVID-19, what a way to give back to Calshot RNLI Crew Member, Kells your community?!
