Who can be nominated? You do not need to be a resident of Hythe and Dibden to be nominated for the Awards if your work is of bene t to the residents of the Parish. No elected representative may be nominated whilst they still hold o ce and a person cannot self- nominate. No employee of the Council can be nominated for work undertaken whilst on contract. ere is no age limit for nomination for the Community Spirit and Environmental Champion Award. Who decides? A committee will decide who should receive the awards. ose receiving an award and/or certi cate will be noti ed by letter from the chairman of everyone equally, this means that every person nominated will be recognised with the 2020-2021 Community Spirit Award Pin • Community Spirit – this can be volunteers/ ne i ghbour s / f r i ends / family who did shopping when you couldn’t get out; delivery drivers; just a neighbour who stopped by to say hello or a friend who rang to check you were OK; businesses that went out of their way to deliver goods to you, etc.; people who sewed PPE; collected care packages for frontline workers; people who collected Since February 2020 the pandemic has brought many changes to Hythe & Dibden Parish, and one of the most amazing is the many ways in which the community stepped up to help each other. e Parish Council wishes to continue a tradition that is a memorable and distinctive way for the community to thank and pay special tribute to the people of Hythe and Dibden whose work and e orts have shown kindness and support in this extraordinary year. ese people have been key in getting the community through this di cult time and what they do and what they have achieved is an example for us all.
