We’re all doing the same job; it’s good to be part of any of the teams. e only downside seems to be that litter picking is addictive! Peta said: “ I love being part of the group. I’ve been walking from home to pick aside from when we drove out to Applemore recently. Feels very supportive even though I can’t pick every day due to work. Credit to you, Stephen and the team. Can’t think what the Forest would look like without what this group does.” Jo said: “I’ve really enjoyed being a member of this group. It’s been very motivating and it’s so nice to have your efforts acknowledged by like-minded people. The lovely thing is that there are no angry disagreements, as everyone has the same goal!” Jane said: “I love this group. Everyone is so supportive and friendly. The moderators are tireless and brilliant, and I have made new friends and also bonded with existing ones. My village (and the rest of the New Forest and beaches) looks so much better for our efforts. One BIG complaint though, I now have a severe and untreatable addiction to spotting litter!” Liz said: “We heard about litter picking in a webinar on commoning where the 3 commoners present were full of praise for the help in keeping the Forest clean. We joined up the next day and are so pleased we did. The group is so friendly, we have been made so welcome, our dog walks have taken on an added dimension and we find ourselves with a new hobby. The only downside? It’s addictive!” Dora said: “I feel proud to be part of such a positive group of people, actively working to keep the beautiful place we live in litter-free. The more we are seen locally (with our hi-vis vests); it may help people think about getting involved.” Sophie said : “I absolutely love being a part of a group of such lovely, kind people who never judge one another. I have been a litter picker for most of my life but this group has really encouraged me.” We are very grateful to Tarrant Gardening Services for sponsoring us, and as an ever-growing group we would love to hear from any local businesses that could help.
