All the money raised locally stays within the charity and supports local people. Donations can now be made directly through the website at: www.ageconcernnewforest.org . uk Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) were thrilled to re-open their doors to the Horrill Care and Wellbeing Centre in Dibden on the 27th April 2021 a er more than a year of closure due to COVID-19. ACH have been working hard to support older people in the community throughout the pandemic in their own homes with home visits to prevent them feeling alone and isolated. e centre is welcoming clients back through the doors Monday to Friday a er such a long time of isolation, shielding and restrictions. e experienced team help clients and families feel supported in their journey to accessing services with their compassionate and caring approach. ey are there to o er a little extra help to older people as well as respite for those caring for loved ones. Care within the centre from quali ed support workers gives clients an opportunity to enjoy stimulating and engaging activities in the safety of a COVID- 19 compliant environment to help maintain their wellbeing, health and cognitive function. e health and safety of all clients is paramount especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Support workers are fully equipped with infection control certi cation and PPE to ensure the safety of clients at all times. They are acutely aware that the pandemic is forcing many people further into isolation and loneliness. If you would like to develop new friendships and receive a weekly phone chat, or you know someone who might, please contact the Good Neighbour Co-ordinator at their o ce at Southward House, Beaulieu Road, Dibden Purlieu, SO45 4PT. Perhaps you have time on your hands and would like to volunteer to become a Befriender and help support a member of the older local community? Age Concern New Forest compile and keep a list of referenced tradespeople, including handypersons, plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators, gardeners, cleaners, builders, and lots more. To be accepted on to the list, tradespersons need to supply two referees in relation to their work from clients or suppliers etc., and they will obtain the references. ey DO NOT make recommendations regarding a particular tradesperson but are happy to share the list.
