We found it quite time consuming last summer to keep up with keeping everything hydrated, luckily Jade, e Falcon pub Landlady, has kindly given us the use of their hosepipe and water. We’re hoping for a drop of rain soon as the grass has been fed and weeded by two very hard working committee members - any help would be so gratefully received. We are delighted to o cially announce that now the garden is complete it is OPEN TO EVERYONE all year and in all weather. It’s there for all to make use of, so please do come along and enjoy it! If you have any garden plants or shrubs that you no longer require, we’d love them... in fact anything you’d like to see in the garden, please do bring them (not your weeds though!) If you have time on your hands then we are always looking for volunteers - we would love to encourage as much wildlife as possible to the garden so we are on the lookout for any bird/ bat boxes and would welcome anyone who would be interested in building or donating any. One committee member’s daughters have already kindly made a hedgehog home and an adjoining neighbour has thoughtfully le a ‘hedgehog highway’ to give hedgehogs freedom to move between the gardens. To encourage the pollinators there will be a wild ower patch along with some vegetables in another of the raised beds. Now that we can all safely meet outdoors we have had con rmation that we can order drinks at the Falcon and enjoy them in the Jewell Garden. Jade has said that she is not able to do table service in the garden, but is very happy for customers to carry drinks over to enjoy in the garden. ere are four tables and a couple of benches, and plenty of grass for picnic blankets. Please return all glasses and keep the garden litter-free. The Jewell Community Garden is open to all!
