And we’ve nally had a decent plan from the Government announced, to aid the tourism industry not just in England but also internationally. I’ve done some digging on what parts of the tra c light system mean and I feel incredibly positive about the ideal outcomes! Over the next few weeks, the Government will announce the travel list – of which countries on it will be placed in either Green, Amber or Red categories based on COVID-19 data and vaccine rollout. In addition to this being reviewed as new data comes in, there will be a ‘watchlist’ provided to give extra security and reassurance to potential travellers. is watchlist will show countries that may be moving from their respective coloured zone depending on data at the time. is is to warn not only potential travellers, but also those already abroad, of possible quarantine and testing requirements upon return. e direct meanings of each of the coloured zones below for your convenience – we will get through this! Green: arrivals will need to take a pre-departure test as well as a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test on, or before, day 2 of their arrival back into England - but will not need to quarantine on return (unless they receive a positive result) or take any additional tests, halving the cost of tests on their return from holiday. Amber: arrivals will need to quarantine for a period of 10 days and take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on day 2 and day 8 with the option for Test to Release on day 5 to end self- isolation early. Red: arrivals will be subject to restrictions currently in place for ‘red list’ countries which include a 10-day stay in a managed quarantine hotel, pre-departure testing and PCR testing on day 2 and 8.
