To reserve a place, or nd out more, call Marianne on: 07899 664209 or: mpiggin@testvalley. gov.uk In addition to Greenbuttercup CIC’s Dementia Services, Romsey Dementia Action Group (ROMDAG) has also been planning some summer activities for people living with Dementia and their carers. As ROMDAG were unable to hold their annual DEMFEST event for the second year running, their members are arranging a series of monthly ‘themed’ picnics. ey will take place from 11.30am to 1.30pm on the following dates: Tuesday 20th July - with a ‘Reminiscence’ theme at Romsey Sports Centre Playing Field (by Romsey Rapids) Tuesday 17th August - with a ‘Gardening’ theme at Hilliers Tuesday 14th September - venue and theme TBA It is hoped that regular activities for people living with Dementia will re-start with a vengeance this September in Romsey. Members of Greenbuttercup CIC have continued to provide some sort of service throughout the pandemic, but are now excited to return to the Plaza eatre in Romsey for their Friday morning activities. e ‘Arts & Cra s’ group will resume on the rst Friday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm. With the rst session on Friday 3rd September . Greenbuttercup CIC also ran another activity/social group pre-pandemic, which explored a di erent subject each time using the senses. is group will have to take slightly di erent format as much of the session involved sharing/passing items around the group. ese types of actions will continue to be avoided, to ensure that the sessions remain as COVID-secure as possible. is means that the session will probably concentrate more on reminiscence, featuring sensory work where possible. Details of this ‘new’ group will be announced as soon as possible, but it will take place on the third Friday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Over the summer there will be a number of events in Romsey for people living with Dementia and their carers to attend. Greenbuttercup CIC will continue to provide an activity session on the third Friday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm. However, due to the ever-changing COVID-situation, these are not being organised too far in advance for fear of having to cancel.
