Sta and residents at West Cli Hall Care Home decided they wanted to do something to help the campaign. ey organised a ra e, selling tickets at the care home and on a market stall in the village on 27th April. e ra e raised £585, and a cheque was presented by West Cli Hall’s residents and staff to campaign organiser Ashleigh Mutimear, who was accompanied by Parish Councillor Allan Fairhead. Lisa Sellens, West Cli Hall’s Manager says: “We were looking for ways to become more closely involved in our local community. Everyone really wanted to help with the ferry campaign as many of our residents have fond memories of using the service over the years and seeing some of the great liners in Southampton Docks on their journeys. “From West Cliff Hall’s garden, you can see the ferry making its regular crossings, but sadly, the pandemic has meant the service has had to stop and they need to raise tens of thousands of pounds to get it started again.” Lisa adds: “We were delighted with the response to the raffle especially when we ran our market stall in Hythe where we met so many people and made many new friends. Thank you to all those who bought tickets and the local companies who donated the fantastic prizes.” West Cli Hall is run by Hartford Care Group Limited, part of a family- owned business, established more than a century ago in 1908 that has 16 individual care and nursing homes located throughout the south of England. e company is governed by its core principles of care, comfort and companionship in an environment that is safe and happy for all.
