Enterprise Advisers are volunteers from local businesses who are matched to a school or college by the Solent LEP to help shape the workforce of the future - enabling business to ourish and young people to thrive. Rachael Randall, the Solent LEP’s Skills Lead, said: “Helping young people make great career choices, and making sure they have the right skills at the same time as ensuring businesses have the talent pipeline they need to build back better after the pandemic has never been more important. We know that the more meaningful encounters and experiences young people have with the world of work, the more likely they are to succeed in their careers and earn more across their lifetime. We’d like to thank all our volunteers who are working with schools and colleges as Enterprise Advisers. They are making a huge difference to a young person’s life chances and helping ensure schools and colleges are equipping their students with the skills that businesses need.” e Enterprise Adviser Network is a national initiative funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company and delivered locally through Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), providing direct engagement between businesses and schools and colleges, and an insight into education, recruitment and training in the workplace. It supports secondary schools and colleges to develop and improve their employer engagement plans, helping them to link classroom learning with the world of work. Each volunteer Enterprise Adviser is linked to one school or college and works strategically alongside senior leaders and careers leads, bringing a business voice into the school and advising on employer expectations.
