People organised tea parties for neighbours, did shopping, fetched prescriptions. ey sewed bags and masks, made aprons and face shields. ey collected things, they delivered things, they changed the way they worked to keep the community fed and nourished, they entertained and carried on teaching over Zoom. ey held virtual co ee morning so people had company. People went out walking, and started picking up litter, they checked on neighbours they’d never spoken to, they le cakes and owers on doorsteps, the list is endless. Some acts were huge but even the small ones of checking on a neighbour became signi cant and this year it was felt that each act of kindness should be recognised. is year there will be an overall winner in both categories but every nominee will receive a specially Community Spirit pin designed by local graphic designer Simon Chadwick.
