Run… no way… but walking would get them out and about and hopefully a little tter. Seven residents and the manager at Popes Court Retirement Apartments in Totton, took up the Challenge during May. Short and longer distances were recorded and at the end of the month they had walked between them 166 miles – much more than an ambulance travels in one day! At the same time, they were raising funds for the South Central Ambulance Service Charity. With their sponsorship money and donations from many other residents they were able to present to the Charity £690 to one of their local volunteer Community First Responders, enough to pay for training and retention for a responder for two years.
