BRAMSHOTT HILL SENIORS RESULTS On Wednesday 2nd June Bramshott Hill Seniors hosted a senior’s team from the New Forest Golf Club at the Dibden Golf Course. is was a match play competition and the weather had certainly improved over the past week. However, the weather gremlins once again caught them out. Having started the match in reasonable conditions within half an hour of the start it started to rain and continued until about half an hour before the nish. But Senior Golfers would not let this spoil their enjoyment and all teams completed the course. Bramshott Hill won the match 5.5 games to .5 games. e day was completed with a meal in the clubhouse. On Monday 7th June Bramshott Hill Seniors played a fun competition at Dibden Golf Course namely a Greensome competition. is is a pairs competition with each pair playing one ball and taking alternate strokes. e game was played in stroke format, the results are as follows: 1st Mike Wells/Barry Finch ; 2nd Mark Eve/Jeff Andrews ; 3rd Ron Gooding/Graham Brown . ursday 10th June once again saw Bramshott Hill Seniors hosting another home match at Dibden Golf Course. is time the visitors were from Amp eld Golf Club. Finally, the weather gremlins were kind to them and they experienced some glorious sunshine. e match was played in good spirit and Bramshott Hill Seniors emerged victorious winning all six games. Later in the clubhouse an excellent meal was served by MyTime sta and speeches and jokes followed. Once again, a superb day was had by all. On Monday 14th June Bramshott Hill Seniors played medal competition from the White Tees. A trophy would be presented to the winner of the competition namely the Veterans Shield. e format being played is generally considered the most di cult game so some good golf needed to be played to win the trophy. 33 players took part and the result was as follows. Division 1: 1st Brian Lewis , 2nd Robert Hallett , 3rd Stuart Bulbrooke ; Division 2: 1st Eddie Moseley , 2nd Dave Kellaway , 3rd Keith Cartwright . e overall winner was Brian Lewis and the Veterans Shield will be presented to him at their presentation evening in the autumn. On Wednesday 16th June the team from Bramshott Hill Seniors visited Wellow Golf Club to play a Match play game against the Wellow Seniors Team. e weather was glorious as they set o and remained that way throughout the match. ey teed o at 12noon and so experienced the hottest part of the day. Wellow is a lovely course but quite challenging and very unforgiving, it was essential to keep their drives on the fairway if they wanted to win the holes. A er a very enjoyable a ernoon they retired to the clubhouse for some refreshment and an excellent meal provided by Wellow Golf Club sta . Once again Bramshott Hill Seniors were victorious winning three games tying two games and only losing one game. Wellow Seniors will have the chance of revenge when they visit Bramshott Hill later in the year. On Monday 21st June thirty- ve intrepid Bramshott Hill Senior Golfers set out for Dibden Golf Course to play a Medal Quali er and the veterans cup was waiting to be won. Sadly, the weather beat them all and the game was called o due to incessant rain. e game will be played at a later date. On Tuesday 22nd June a Seniors team from Bramshott Hill attended the Crane Valley Golf Club for an interclub match. ankfully the weather was ne and dry and an excellent game was played. Crane Valley Golf Course can present a di cult challenge; however, the Bramshott Hill Team were up for the challenge and a er a very competitive match the honours were shared with Bramshott Hill Winning three games and Crane Valley winning three games. A very social and entertaining meal was enjoyed by all a er the match before some tired golfers made their way home. later this year with his score of nett 65, 2nd Robin Swanston – nett 67, 3rd David Senior – nett 67, 4th Peter Ayers – nett 69. In Division 2, Mervyn Harding won the medal with a nett 67, while just behind him all with nett 68 came 2nd Alan Gill , 3rd Peter Neville , and 4th Bob Peckham . On Thursday 17th June 2021, a surprisingly dry day considering the dire weather forecast, 31 New Forest Golf Club Seniors contested their newest trophy donated in memory of Brian Randall, a long standing member who sadly passed away last year. is stroke play competition o the white tees was keenly fought in both divisions; however Steve Lupton in Division 1 emerged head and shoulders above the rest of the eld to win with nett 63. Prizes were awarded as follows: Division 1: 1st - Steve Lupton nett 63, 2nd - Peter Ayers nett 67, 3rd - Mervyn Harding nett 67. Division 2: 1st - Gary Gross nett 68, 2nd - Trevor Davies nett 68, 3rd - John Ireland nett 68. Again the 15th proved challenging for some with the white tee a long way back and the penalty area still a quagmire. is clearly did not faze those in the winners list who turned in very impressive scores.
