All money Hoo-ray and Up She Rises! by Donna Head, Editor If you visited Hythe on Saturday 24th July no doubt you would have heard the popular Sea Shanty sounds of the Southampton Salty Sea Dogs lling the high street with echoes of the ocean. ese real-life pirates threw themselves, hook line and sinker, into the performance with a capella renditions of ‘Drunken Sailor’ and ‘Strike the Bell’. I was one of those people who found themselves in the (socially distanced) crowd, tapping my toes and adding my ‘oooh aarrrrs’ to the sound that was swirling round the front of the Lord Nelson pub with my imaginary tankard With Seagulls providing the perfect vocal backing, The ‘Sea Dogs’ entertain Hythe visitors to meet new friends and have a swashbuckling time in the process!
