CHANGING TIME FOR HYTHE SEA SCOUTS Hythe Sea Scouts has received a massive boost to its water based activities from the Charles Burnett Memorial Fund, which provided the all new changing rooms, to enable the scouts to change for their water based activities. A socially distanced opening of the new changing rooms took place outside with the scouts very keen to start using them as soon as the COVID-19 restrictions allow. Richard Channell, Charles Burnett Memorial Fund Advisor said: “ Charles would have been very proud to be associated with this and the good it is doing for these young people”. Scott Biddlecombe, Assistant Scout Leader commented: “Our old facilities were very tired and rotting away 19 years ago when I joined as a scout and had become completely unusable recently, these new rooms allow boys and girls to change in safety and in the dry and warm. They will benefit many children for years to come.” Chris Bench Group Chairman added “This donation at a time when all our fundraising activities have had to stop for 18 months due to the global pandemic is such a massive boost to the group and our local community. We pride ourselves on offering amazing opportunities to local young people and this helps us to continue doing so into the future. I would like to thank the Charles Burnett Memorial Fund for this amazing donation and also the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation who administer the fund”. All Change! New facility will enable more Scouts to change more comfortably
