Seven designs were foam free! • Sunflowers . Marion used a bunch of sun owers secured with ra a, hypericum berries around these, outside were aspidistra leaves looped and stapled. All secured with yellow ra a, placed in a vase with a pin holder covered with natural stones (care not to break the vase!). Summer in a vase! • “Going to pot”. A short vase from a charity shop lled with a “vintage hand tie” - not tied and no mechanics. Mo made a hand tie of vintage coloured owers –alstroemerias (white, raspberry ecks), pale pink carnations, spearmint in ower, lisianthus (white with maroon tips), silvery foliage and hostas leaves to nish. Put straight into a vase-reminiscent of a summer a ernoon tea. Other designs – recycled clay fondue pot lled with summer oranges from a supermarket mixed bunch and a variety of foliage - variegated, di erent leaf sizes, textures and colours and seed heads to add texture and space. Opposites on the colour wheel were used to add a “buzz”. Mechanics were a grid of oasis tape. “Pick a vase and get owers to match”: A blue and white, heavy oriental style vase was lled with tied tiers of agapanthus, bear grass, gypsophila and palm leaves. Another tall vase (pale okra, mint green, so brown), weighted with sand and lled with burgundy owering foliage, owering spearmint, lemon gladioli (remove tops to keep looking fresh), textured grasses with seeds and tassels and yellow spiky pom-pom owers to add texture. A weighted (bricks) metal planter with a oasis holder secured to the top had a stunning design using greens and whites – crocosmia leaves, palm leaves, large white fragrant lilies, red brown foliage, lime green rhododendron foliage, white lace hydrangea, white roses and lime green umbrella style owers. Last but not least were a beautiful basket arrangement by Marion and “le overs” by Mo - heavy based glass vase, rhododendron foliage and stems used as mechanics and a variety of owers and grasses. All Stunning! All designs were ra ed and lucky ladies le with beautiful arrangements.
