They have recently produced an attractive calendar for 2022 with views of Lepe Country Park taken by members, this makes a great present for family and friends and is available at the reception desk in the Lookout at Lepe. Friends outdoor social events have also started to be held again and members are enjoying meeting up. A successful Friends of Lepe Barbecue was held in the Park, staying within the government guidelines of 30 people, unusually the weather stayed ne! For those who missed the rst barbecue, another is being held on 18th August . Several of the group also enjoyed a walk around the Lepe Loop last month with others joining them for a ernoon picnic tea in the park a erwards, this was during the hot spell of weather which had brought out the butter ies to accompany the group around the meadow sections of the route. e Friends of Lepe 14th AGM will be held in the Lookout at Lepe on Wednesday 8th September 2021, a er the o cial business is completed there will be a chance to socialise with a Cheese and Wine party. On the 6th October there will be a talk by Trevor Guymer about Clouds in the Lepe Classroom at 2pm. is promises to be a very interesting talk and is free to members (£5 non-members). New members are always very welcome; whether you just want to be kept in touch with happenings at Lepe via our quarterly newsletters or wish to become more actively involved with your local country park by o ering some time as a volunteer. Annual membership is only £5 and details can be obtained from reception in the Lookout or by emailing Alison Steele: alisteele101@gmail.com New Milton RFC Gearing Up for New Season New Milton Rugby Club has resumed training in earnest for the new season which will begin 18 months after matches were banned due to COVID- 19. e club has three senior teams and is on the look-out for players of all standards, shapes and sizes – and total beginners are also welcome. Training is on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm and there is something for everyone – even those who’d prefer just to use the bar. e club’s minis, junior and youth teams and also back up and running and train and play matches on Sunday mornings. A new group of women players has also been formed and would welcome new members, including those who have never played the game. First team skipper Jack Corbett said: “We are all really looking forward to playing games again. Training is back on and we’d love to see some new players or even those who just want to get a bit of fitness in. Just turn up when you can and you’ll receive a warm welcome. We’ve kept going throughout the pandemic one way or another, but all restrictions have now been lifted so the sport is back properly. We have fantastic facilities, excellent coaches and a brilliant bar.
