Zoë Clewer joins as the representative of Wiltshire Council, replacing Leo Randall. She is the councillor for Redlynch and Landford and lives in Whiteparish. Leo, who is retiring a er being a councillor for 21 years, also served as chair of the New Forest National Park Planning Committee – a position now lled by Gordon Bailey, with Steve Trow as deputy. Michael ierry replacesEdwardHeronas aHampshire County Council representative for the NPA. Michael is a member of Ringwood Town Council, New Forest District Council and Hampshire County Council. Six are appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural A airs. Four are elected from parish councils within the National Park. Authority members set policies and priorities, ensure e cient and e ective use of resources, and make sure that money is well spent. It’s their job to represent the interests of the National Park and to balance out any con icting pressures. times. Expect well over one hundred high quality and varied carvings, some small carved items for sale and a ‘Touch table’ with items you are encouraged to ‘handle with care’. You will be able to meet some of the carvers and and see carving in action. In addition, award winning member Maggie Port will be demonstrating the art of pyrography. She specialises in carving very realistic, life-size birds and several will be on display. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite piece – just for fun: there is no prize – but you might be surprised at how di cult it can be to choose. is is a very dynamic local club that has managed to keep going through the pandemic and has a supportive and friendly atmosphere. ey hope to be returning to regular evening workshops at Applemore College in the autumn ‘ Wood’ you believe it!
