Aquaponics on the Waterside New Forest Aquaponics cic (NFA) has been slowly developing its working methods over the last four years. Run by David Green and Lucie Mann and their sons, they would like to share the next exciting stage of their journey with you. eir journey is about to become your journey! Well they hope it will, that is if you would like to see a community owned regenerative aquaponics farm in the Waterside. Aquaponics being the growing of sh and plants in the same soilless system, regenerative in the form of working to restore land and habitat. What will this mean in practice? If there is enough interest, working alongside the Plunkett Foundation (www. plunkett.co.uk) Foundation NFA will be able to o er democratic (one member- one vote) share o er. is will allow all who are interested to invest and make New Forest Aquaponics a community asset in the Waterside. There will be opportunities for volunteering, and eventually to purchase locally grown produce. Being a regenerative community farm will also mean in every action taken the biosphere will come rst, putting more back than they take out. ey have published their working ethos document on their website giving details of how they will operate and what they aim to bring to the community farm. e website is not super slick at the moment because it is being created as an open source learning experience for a team of young people from around the world, giving them skills they can use to further their community work. Each week will focus on a specific topic from a local business expert. An important element of these sessions is the interaction between attending businesses. Whilst the rst half hour is focused on the chosen topic, the second half will allow businesses to share ideas, opportunities or issues.
