Earlier this summer Hampshire County Council started work on improvements to seven junctions on the southern section of the A326 - to help ease tra c congestion and improve access for people living, working and visiting the area. Councillor Rob Humby, Deputy Leader of Hampshire County Council and Executive Lead Member for Economy, Transport and Environment, said: “I am pleased that these important improvements to the A326 are now being implemented. During the works we will be doing all we can to minimise the disruption to the travelling public, but some additional delays should be expected. This is why I would encourage people to plan their journeys in advance and to leave extra time.” e works at Holbury Roundabout which are due to take place from Monday 6th September for approximately 12 weeks. To enable the works to be undertaken safely the following measures will be in place: • A temporary road closure of Long Copse from its junction with Holbury Roundabout to its junction with Wentworth Grove; access to properties within the closure will be maintained. • Temporary tra c lights on the A326 Long Lane and B3053 Fawley Road arms of Holbury Roundabout. Cllr Humby added: “This is a major scheme of work and is crucial to enabling traffic to flow as smoothly as possible in the future and includes improvements to walking and cycling facilities. Improving the A326 is a priority for the County Council, and we are also working on proposals for major improvements to the northern end of the route. However, any improvement to the northern A326 is likely to involve major upgrade works for the road, public transport, and walking and cycling provision, and will need the support of significant Government funding.” For more information, visit the scheme web pages: www.hants.gov.uk/transport/transportschemes/ a326southfawleywaterside Tickets for their November concert to be given by Tenebrae are already sold out but it may be worth checking occasionally to see whether they have been allowed to release more, particularly if COVID-19 restrictions on distancing in relatively con ned spaces are relaxed.
