Inevitably, it was not possible to hold a private viewing and measures were in place to ensure the safety of both visitors and the public. However, sales were buoyant and it was agreed that the exhibition sub committee had done an excellent job. e committee, chose the painting ‘Evening at Freshwater’ by Laura Hollinghum as their choice for the event. e public vote was very close and two artists shared the highest vote, Pat Swain, for ‘Refection’ and Shandy Simmons for ‘Legend of the Arctic’. ‘ Evening at Freshwater’ Lorna Hollinghum Jan Wheat – Chair of New Forest Art Society Jan Wheat, Chair of the Society, thanked everyone for their hard work in putting the exhibition together in these altered times and making it such a success.
