Jigsaw Puzzle Festival HALLOWEEN IN HYTHE Businesses in Hythe are coming together this Halloween to create a Halloween Treat Trail on Saturday 30th October from 4pm until 6pm. Over 50 shops and businesses have taken part in previous years and many will be taking part on the night by decorating their windows and o ering a sweet treat for the children. All proceeds raised from the evening will go to the Hythe Christmas Lights fund. e evening kicks o with some spooky dancing by Waitrose and Harveys to get everyone in the mood. Children are encouraged to dress up (although not essential, just encouraged!) So why not go along and enjoy a safer alternative to Trick or Treating this half term. e treat trail paper bags have been on sale since 16th October and are available from Harvey’s, Toys Ahoy and Jane Bidwell Flowers and cost £2.50. ey will be your ticket for the trail and include your all-important map – but be quick, once they’re gone they’re gone! Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance New Forest and Waterside U3A have started their twice monthly meetings in St Andrew’s Church Hall, a er a very successful opening meeting on 31st August. e next meeting is on Tuesday 2nd November for their AGM followed by an update talk on e Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. Followed on Tuesday 16th November for a talk by Alan Jones titled ‘Look into my Eyes’ - e history and mystery of hypnosis. A er each speaker they have tea and biscuits and usually the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest group such as gardening, discussion, history skittles and much more. ey usually organise a luncheon once a month and a holiday once a year. Colouring in for a Living Go along and join HYADS (Hythe and Dibden Society) at Hythe and Dibden Community Centre in Brinton Lane at 2pm on Tuesday 2nd November for “Colouring in for a Living”, with Simon Chadwick. Followed on Tuesday 7th December for “A Christmas with a Di erence”, with Maureen Dolding. is is a ladies only group and they charge £3.50 to cover the cost of the room and refreshments, but o er a free taster session to visitors and newcomers to the area. ey will continue their regular meetings (please note, the day of the week has changed from the original day due to hall availability). is will include a speaker and refreshments and is now being held on the first Tuesday afternoon in the month and look forward to seeing you then. Southampton Canal Society’s (SCS) next meeting will be on Thursday 4th November for a talk titled ‘Irish Waterways’. Ron andMyra Glover will talk about their boating experiences over in Ireland.
