Maureen brings a huge amount of experience of supporting others, having spent almost 28 years in the travel and tourism industry working for Carnival UK and Red Funnel before joining University Hospital Southampton as a ward clerk. Maureen will play a key role in evolving the services the Centre provides, so it can continue to be here for everyone who needs it. She has lived in the Waterside area since 2003 and has volunteered for various charities over the years. A member of the ladies section of Bramshott Hill Golf Club, she also sings with Sweet Charity Choir which has raised over £55,000 for a variety of charities since it was formed. Maureen says: “ As soon as I joined, I could see how passionate everyone at the Waterside Support Centre is about the difference we can make to the lives of local people living with cancer. Many of us have experienced cancer and are very mindful of the feelings and situations it can bring. The Centre is a much-needed part of the local community and we’re committed to providing, and growing, personalised wellbeing support for anyone at any stage of cancer.
