THE FAWLEY POWER STATION CHIMNEY by Vic Lee Power Station Chimney In 2016 Brown and Mason, as principal demolition contractor, were appointed to carry out demolition of the Fawley Power Station site. In May 2019 New Forest District Council approved an application for Prior Noti cation of Demolition as part of the continued management of the former Power Station site. is application covered the dismantling, removal and site clearance of buildings followed by remediation. e application includes a series of explosive events, the rst occurred in October 2019 with demolition of the Turbine Hall roof and Deaerator Building, the second in November 2020 with demolition of the southern section of the Boiler House and the third in July 2021 with demolition of the northern section of the Boiler House. In July 2020 two outline planning applications for the re-development of the Fawley Power Station site were approved by New Forest District Council’s and e New Forest National Park Authority’s Planning Committee members.
