As the Queen’s Representative in Hampshi re, Mr Atkinson has been keen to show appreciation to companies such as care homes for all their hard work and extra e ort during the COVID-19 pandemic. West Cliff Hall was delighted to welcome the Hon Mrs Montagu-Scott who met and talked to sta members and the residents, who enjoyed a party to celebrate their VIP visitor. e Deputy Lieutenant was then invited to plant an apple tree in West Cli Hall’s garden to mark Apple Day ( ursday 21st October). To accompany the planting, West Cli Hall resident Molly Erskine read a beautiful poem about the importance of the tree to everyone at the home. Molly then helped the Hon Mrs Montagu-Scott, a keen gardener, to plant the apple tree. e Hon Mrs Montagu- Scott was then shown around some of the rooms at the care home before being presented with a bouquet by Aga Gierek-Tan, West Cli Hall’s manager. Aga said afterwards: “It was such a pleasure to have the Deputy Lieutenant with us for the afternoon. She thanked all the team here, met the residents and was particularly impressed with the location of West Cliff Hall, which has the most stunning views across Southampton Water. Her visit has really lifted the spirits of us all and planting the apple tree is the perfect memory of this very special occasion.” West Cli Hall is run by Hartford Care Group Limited, part of a family-owned business, established more than a century ago in 1908, that runs 16 individual care and nursing homes located throughout the south of England. e company is governed by its core principles Family Matters at Hythe URC are pleased to announce they are able to welcome people back to Hythe Huddle, the drop in support group for people living with dementia and their carers. ey meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm at Cornerstone URC, Hythe SO45 6BR.
