Sam explains: “We have been so warmly welcomed by the community of Dibden Purlieu and are so grateful to all our regular customers that visit us week in, week out. It’s wonderful to have time to chat to members of the community and help spread some community cheer. Many of our more vulnerable customers prefer the outside shopping of a Market Stall and the freedom that gives them to take time to browse items rather than feeling rushed to be in and out of shops. We look out for our customers and get to know their likes/dislikes and share recipes and meal ideas with many shoppers. We are still taking orders for fruit and veg boxes over the phone or via Facebook and this can work really well for busy households that literally want to drive through!” Christmas is fast approaching, and Sam knows this year people are wanting to make up for lost time. Sitting around a table with ne food and wonderful company is long overdue. Traditionally it’s the turkey that’s the star of the show, but it’s o en the wonderful, fresh, seasonal vegetables that make your Christmas plate so special. e spiced red cabbage, the cauli ower cheese, the honey roasted parsnips and don’t forget everyone’s favourites…Sprouts! So, indulge your senses and keep your carbon footprint light whilst supporting a local company with community at the heart of her business…a er 100 years of the family business Sam Long really does know her onions!
