It has been painted a Spruce green by the volunteers but it will need another coat of paint in the Spring. e old shed has been moved to the bottom of the garden and it has been given a new oor and roof. e volunteers plan to have a Grand Opening on Saturday 27th November at 2pm . ere will be refreshments and cakes and the Christmas ra e will be drawn. Summerhouse is Here On 14th October they were delighted to welcome Matina Coleman, Area demonstrator. Martina’s demonstration was entitled ‘Strictly flowers’. To start they had an arrangement dedicated to Craig Revel Horwood. Tall lines and straight posture as required by Craig using black ai leaves, medilino sticks, lime green Anastasia and white agapanthus. Arrangement two was for Darcey Bussell. Using an elegant and graceful vase with foxtail fern, red roses and alstroemeria. Number three in a bowl shaped container for Len Goodman/Shirley Ballas. Again black ai leaves with Phoenix palms cut to a sword shape. Lots of greenery with red Naomi and white mondial roses. For judge four the amboyant Bruno Tonioli an arrangement in a classic Italian style urn using Phoenix palms and fatsia leaves as a base. e owers were white antirrhinum, spider chrysanthemums and beautiful Melissa cymbidium orchid. To nish they had a homage to the glitter ball using a tall martini glass. Mixed greenery including conifer with green chrysanthemum, star of Bethlehem and white avalanche roses. All ve arrangements were stunning and as Craig would say fab-u-lous. Hythe Flower Club meet on the second Thursday each month at Hythe Parish Hall, West Street, 7pm for 7.30pm and they welcome new members and visitors. eir next meeting is on Thursday 9th December for a demonstration by Graham King titled ‘A Magical Christmas’.
