ASK A PROFESSIONAL CGM Solicitors Hythe Free Will Scheme Raise over One Million Pounds For Cancer Research UK Hythe residents have come out in waves to make new wills under the Free Will Scheme and pledge over £1 million towards Cancer Research UK. With a gure of £1,001,446 gi ed from across 95 wills, Annabel Dart, Legacy Partnership Manger of Cancer Research UK, is delighted and wishes to thank CGM Solicitors and the people of Hythe and surrounding areas for their continued support. CGM Solicitors and Cancer Research UK have worked together for a number of years o ering free wills to the local area in support of the charity. Annabel has the following to say “Although it’s not a condition of using the Free Will Scheme that people leave a gift, most people do which raises much needed income for our future research. For example, a £1000 legacy could buy some imaging software, or 20% of a £300,000 estate could buy a DNA analysis machine. The average gift under the Free Will Scheme is £6,500. The total pledge value for 20/21 for Free Will Scheme was £63million. 23% of that was from residuary gifts, which translated into £56million or 88% of our total income for which we are grateful.” Solicitors Lindsay Taylor and Naomi Hazlewood have been presented with a certi cate celebrating the pledge milestone. Lindsay, who heads up the probate department in Hythe support’s the scheme wholeheartedly “The Free Will Scheme actively encourages people to take that final step to make concrete plans and prepare for their passing. The death of a loved one is distressing enough and having a will which makes your wishes clear from the get go makes the distribution of your estate much easier.” All CGM o ces are participating in the Free Will Scheme and the solicitors details can be found below: Vanessa Fielding - Totton o ce on: 023 8087 1144, Lindsay Taylor - Hythe o ce on: 023 8084 2765, Lisa Geraghty - Southampton o ce on: 023 8063 2733.
