The children arrived and were immediately photographed in a luxury limousine provided by New Forest Limousines and on the red carpet as they entered the building. e senior class project from Ashurst was a musical o ering called Channel 5 News written by Madison Bell , a previous student now at University and the son of the owner of Shine, Logan Young. is was about a dystopian world where a corrupt news station ruled and how a weather man who discovered this joined a band of revolutionaries to try to bring down Channel 5. Trophies were then given out by assistant teacher, Logan Young to the winners of Best Actor, Progression and Special Achievement Recognition for each class:- West End Class:- Best Actor- Stanley Stamp age 7 Progression- Taylor Cartin age 11 Achievement- Hannah Dineen age 11 for script writing Ashurst Juniors:- Best Actor- Summer Osborne age 8 Progression- Gracie Jackson age 7 Development- Alysha Spoard age 11 Senior Ashurst Class:- Best Actress- Beth Bidwell Achievement – Eden Perkin Progression- Alysha Taylor Special Achievement Awards were given to LoganYoung and Madison Bell for writing Channel 5, appearing in it Left to Right, Beth Bidwell (16), Assistant Teacher at Shine walks the red carpet with Faith Husk (14) student at Ashurst Class of Shine Performing Arts. Finally all the team were recognised with gi s for their contribution and dedication. is was a wonderful evening enjoyed by children and parents and all the team at Shine and all credit is given to these talented children. Shine Performing Arts is not just a drama school as it focuses on discovering other talents encouraging the creative and developing skills and con dence to equip them in all areas of life. Channel 5 Act 2 was then Hythe and District Historians kick o 2022 on Thursday 6th January with a talk by Mike Gibson entitled ‘Forties, Tyne, Dogger’ an amusing talk about the shipping forecasts. All talks will take place at the Hythe and Dibden Community Centre starting at 7.45pm . During the year talks are held every month except July and August. Become a member for only £12 a year plus Hythe and Dibden Community Association charge of £4. Visitors to the Historian’s meetings pay £3 per visit so being a member is great value for money.
