Nominations are now OPEN for MDL’s Sail Training Awards 2022 MDL Marinas is now seeking nominations for its 2022 Sail Training Awards. The awards o er twelve inspirational young people the opportunity to enjoy a unique sailing experience with the Ocean Youth Trust South on-board its sail training vessel, Prolific . MDL is looking for nominations for young people aged between 12 and 18, who have overcome adverse personal circumstances, shown exceptional accomplishments and achievements or who have supported those around them. ird party nominations from people who are in contact with young people, including teachers, guide or scout leaders, youth group leaders, friends and employers are welcome, as are those from within the marine trade. e voyage will take place from 9th to 14th April 2022, with the winners becoming involved in all aspects of life on board, including hoisting sails, helping with maintenance, sailing the boat at night, and cooking and cleaning with the rest of the crew. Being on-board Prolific helps to build con dence and creates a sense of responsibility and pride. For the past 40 years MDL Marinas has developed a close relationship with Ocean Youth Trust South, recognising the charity’s fantastic work with young people and the life changing experience that sailing can o er. Each year, MDL sponsors a ve-day trip aboard Prolific for twelve inspirational young people, forming the basis of its Sail Training Awards. e winners will be selected from the regions in which MDL Marinas are located; the South West, Dorset, Hampshire, ames Valley and East Coast.
