Animals at Barry’s Farm in Frost Lane, Hythe have been entertaining local children and adults alike for over 50 years. e donkeys, alpacas, goats, chickens, ducks, geese are adored by many. Of course, we can’t forget dear old Maggie the Pig who loves nothing more than a good roll in the mud! But of course, animals take A LOT of looking a er. is care and commitment also comes at a huge nancial cost, with constant food and vet bills to pay it can all add up to a tidy sum. To raise funds for this amazing cause, local animal artist and volunteer Christine Jones has put her creativity and talent to good use, producing a beautiful greetings card suitable for all occasions. On sale at the Herald Office, Hythe for just £2 each (cash please!) the card features all the animals on the farm and ALL proceeds from the sale of the cards will be going directly to the care of the animals. As a community we can all play a part in helping Barry’s Farm continue and thrive for future generations to enjoy. Services in Romsey for People Living with Dementia Autumn 2021 saw the re-starting of Greenbuttercup CIC’s regular activities for people living with Dementia and their carers/relatives. Everyone has enjoyed being out of the house again, with the opportunity to meet up with others for a chat. Subject to any increased COVID-19 precautions, the groups will continue on a regular basis in the New Year. On the rst Friday of the month, there is a fun ‘Arts & Cra s’ session with a di erent ‘have-a-go’ activity each month. No experience is necessary and if you want to try it out, the rst session is FREE. en, on the third Friday of the month, there is a ‘Reminiscence Activity’ group with a di erent subject each time, and o en an outside speaker. Both groups are held in the Green Room at the Plaza eatre from 10.30a.m. – 12.30p.m. ere will be a charge of £3.00 per person to include all activities and tea/co ee. Friday 7th January will be Arts & Cra s ‘Card- making’, Friday 21st January Reminiscence activities about ‘Wildlife in Winter’. Your pup will even get a biscuit for good modelling! e WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities. Followed on Tuesday 15th February for a talk abou the work of the Air Ambulance Langley WI meet every third Tuesday at St Francis Church Hall, West Common, SO45 1XU at 7.30pm.
