Every 2 weeks on a Tuesday morning from 9.30am until 12noon there’s a great Table Top Sale at Cornerstone Hythe URC in New Road. ere is always a great selection of Electricals, Jewellery, Collectables, Kitchenware, Glassware, Bags, Toys, Puzzles, Bric- a-brac and an extensive library of Paperback Books, CDs, and DVDs. All proceeds go to the Cornerstone Outreach Fund supporting mission and outreach locally, in the UK and overseas. Upcoming sales are on Tuesday 11th and 25th January . Co ee, tea, and biscuits are always available in the Foyer too! with the winning bidders being able to have their tree well before Christmas. e church was open every day during the festival for viewing. ere was a free concert on the nal Saturday with entertainment by popular local groups Goodnight Sweethearts and Songs4You. What makes the event so special is the participation of so many local people who give their time and talents so freely, including all volunteers and performers, making it a real community event. e donations were really appreciated. Monies raised support Hythe 2000 projects with half going to St John’s church. A huge thank you to all those who supported the event. e Christmas Tree Festival, organised and run by local charity Hythe 2000 proved more popular than ever last year with people visiting from far and wide. Hythe 2000 runs three projects, Smarties Parent & Toddler Group, Gateway I.T. for All and the Primary School Project. e festival, was held in St John’s Church, Hythe and has become an important part of the Christmas festival in Hythe, so was lovely to be able to reinstate it again in 2021. Decorated trees and wreaths are donated by local schools, playgroups, businesses, community groups and individuals. In the three days before the festival a very small team of volunteers are busy transforming the interior. Many of the trees are decorated by the groups and schools in the church so there was a real sense of Christmas in the air, the church gradually lled with the beautiful and colourful trees. e trees and wreaths formed part of a silent auction TABLE TOP SALES Trinity Church Totton Hythe 2000 Christmas Tree Festival 2021 Beautiful, colourful Christmas tree’s filled St John’s Church for the popular annual festival Sunday Services Go along to Black eld Baptist Church ( e Heart of the Village) on Sunday 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th January from 10.30am for their regular services. Everyone is welcome to join them at Hampton Lane, Black eld for their services. Cornerstone Youth Club will now be running fortnightly on Friday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm for young people age 11-18. ere will be a variety of activities; cra s, cooking, games along with table tennis and snooker, or just chill and chat in the newly refurbished youth lounge. Youth Bible Study Group has now re-started, also meeting fortnightly on Friday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the youth lounge for chat, Bible study and prayer. is is for young people ages 14-18 who wish to learn more about being a Christian through studying God’s word together, in a relaxed and fun way. Youth in Hythe New Crematorium near National Park for the People of Hampshire Brand new state-of-the-art development, New Forest Crematorium, by the UK’s leading independent cemetery and crematoria operator, Westerleigh Group, is set to open in March 2022. e facility is being built near the New Forest National Park in Hampshire and will serve the people of Bournemouth, New Milton and Christchurch, as well as nearby areas. Not only will the new site reduce travel times for mourners, but also o er the bereaved a choice of where to celebrate their loved ones’ lives. With 35 sites across England, Scotland and Wales, Westerleigh Group works alongside prominent local authorities who are seeking brighter solutions to help manage the transformation of their crematoria and cemeteries. Each curated site is set within beautifully- landscaped Gardens of Remembrance, with the aim of delivering caring spaces for visitors to re ect. Upon entering the site, a serene vista will be visible across the parkland landscape, leading to a modern chapel building design with the instantly recognisable backdrop of the iconic Great Woar Copse. e 117-seater chapel building will boast views of the adjacent woodland, providing a special, tranquil environment for services. Fitted with a modern media system and tribute screen, the chapel will also be able to host visual tributes and provide live webcasts where needed, allowing for highly personalised services. When departing the chapel, people will be led through the courtyard garden to a covered oral tribute area. e building will be surrounded by peaceful, perfectly- landscaped Gardens of Remembrance, suitable for a range of memorials and celebrations of lives. Bill Scott, Regional Manager of theWesterleigh Group, said: “ New Forest Crematorium will reduce journey times for mourners, as well as offer the bereaved a wider choice of where to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
