During Lady Mary Fagan’s patronage Oakhaven has grown substantially, evolving its services with community teams reaching out to support individuals within their own homes as well as their wellbeing services which o er support and advice to those a ected by illness. Andrew Ryde, Oakhaven’s Chief Executive says: “We are so grateful for the years of support Lady Mary Fagan LG DCVO has given to Oakhaven and for suggesting Mary Montagu-Scott as her successor. I would like to express the gratitude of everyone at Oakhaven for the many years of support Lady Mary has given to the hospice. As we approach the 30th anniversary of the hospice, it is fitting the baton will be passed on to such a recognisable personality in the community. Mary Montagu-Scott brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role. As a well known figure in the region and champion of so many charitable causes, Oakhaven is delighted to have her accept such an important position. Hampshire IOW Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers will be giving families a warm welcome and there is plenty of fun to be had for children of all ages. For children aged 1.5-5 years there are weekly Forest School sessions onMonday mornings 9.30am-11.30am. Families can book ahead for a 6 week term (£39) and children can cook on a camp re, use tools to make things from wood and play in nature. Every last Saturday of the month 10am-12pm families are invited for a Wildlife Tots session themed around a story years (Wildlife Watch, 2-4pm). Young people can learn more about wildlife and take part in activities to help wildlife such as making a bird box or taking part in a conservation task with tools. ere are opportunities to see wildlife through bird watching and pond dipping activities. Adult accompaniment is essential, and the cost is £5 per session. Parking is available at the Education Centre on the hill overlooking Testwood Lake. Please follow the green signs. Nature Babies cost £4 a session. For older ones every last Saturday of the month there are activities for 5-15 Campfire cooking
