It was great to open my studio and welcome visitors for Hampshire Open Studios in the Waterside last August and to meet people again at God’s House Tower Christmas Makers market in December. Much of my inspiration for my printmaking comes from the things that I see every day from the landscape, the changing seasons and architecture. I graduated from Solent University in 2018 and am well known outlets in the area. Two of the Lepe greetings cards are now on sale at e Herald o ce in Hythe. Both the Watch House and the Millenium Beacon greetings cards retail at £2.75 each. Watch House at Lepe Millennium Beacon, Lepe for my range of original heritage prints depicting the cultural and old town buildings in Southampton and the boats found on the water between Hythe and town. More recently I have focused on views and compositions inspired by Lepe. My new greetings cards are available in several Motown Evening a Success!! An evening of Motown, organised by Carol and Merv Langdale, was held at e Fawley British Legion on Saturday 27th November 2021. Despite concerns with numbers, over 125 attended the evening and danced the night away with ‘DJ Arf’ and Mark Blondel keeping the tunes upbeat. e evening was to raise money for charity. In the current climate, all charities rely heavily on donations. e two chosen charities were ‘Solent Mind’ and ‘Reach the Streets (Southampton)’. In addition to the disco, a ra e also took place with the local community donating some great prizes. anks go out to everyone who gave a prize, unfortunately too many to mention. All monies from the whole evening, totalling almost £1,200, was shared between the charities. In addition to the fundraising, feedback has been positive with everyone having fun, a real boost that people needed. Details of ‘Solent Mind’ can be found at: www. s o l e n t m i n d . o r g . u k . Carrie Langdale and Julie England-Merritt are the founders of ‘Reach the Streets (Southampton)’ and you can see more about how they are helping those living on the streets by visiting them on Facebook. As everyone knows, the next couple of months are the coldest time of the year, so if you have any spare single duvets, hats, scarves and gloves, they would be gratefully received. The organisation are more than happy to collect if you text Carol Langdale on: 07834 557830 . Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the event, making it the success that it was. See you at the next one!
