No Limits provides drop-in sessions for con dential advice, counselling and support to thousands of young people in Southampton. e charity received the donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes as part of the housebuilders’ Community Fund, which gives £1,000 to worthy causes in the region each month. is is an important donation for No Limits, as the charity saw money raised by community groups and events drop signi cantly during the pandemic. Lizi Fewtrell, Grants and Community Fundraising O cer at No Limits, sees the gi from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes as a very welcome step towards recovery from this downfall of funds. She said: “The pandemic has had a disproportionate effect on many young people, and our youth workers have been supporting children and young people facing emotional and mental health difficulties, homelessness, poverty and loneliness. It is with the help of our supporters that we’re able to provide this service, and with fundraising events scaled back during the COVID-19 crisis, monies were significantly reduced. Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ donation means we can continue to help manage young people’s lives, help them grow in confidence and help them build a brighter future for themselves.” Tammy Bishop, Sales Director at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, Southampton Division, said: “When we heard of the support No Limits was providing for young people across the region, we had to help. It can be challenging for youngsters to navigate their way through life, and the pandemic has only highlighted this. It’s wonderful to know that services such as this are available for those that need it.” Over 8,000 children and young people accessed No Limits’ services last year. e charity employs 120 sta and has support from a further 100 students and volunteer workers. e charity was set up in 1993, when it was realised that young people needed somewhere to go for information, advice and counselling. e Barratt and David Wilson Homes Community Fund is a dedicated nancial resource that helps to support local causes which improve the quality of life for those living in the region.
