We are very much hoping that 2022 will bring us all better times. is has been another di cult and worrying year with the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, but despite this we have managed to run almost all our services. Our 3 charity shops in Black eld, Totton and Dibden Purlieu re-opened mid-April 2021 a er the third lockdown and have been very busy with an ever constant stream of lovely donations and our local customers buying these pre-loved items. Our Footcare Clinics at Hythe & Dibden Community Centre, Black eld Methodist Church Hall and Totton & Eling Community Centre have also been busy keeping all our clients toe nails and feet in tip top condition. Our Information and Advice O ce in Dibden Purlieu continues to provide a comprehensive telephone service for bene t claims, blue badges and power of attorney. Our Waterside Good-Neighbours & Befriending Service has not stopped throughout and continues to help our local older and vulnerable clients with tasks such as shopping, medical appointments, collecting prescriptions, gardening, etc. Our Lunch Clubs at Totton & Eling Community Centre and Bartley Village Hall managed to run when government guidelines allowed and our clients thoroughly enjoyed this very important social interaction. ey also managed to arrange Christmas outings, which bought some much needed joy. Our Sunday Lunch Club at the Horrill Centre, Dibden was only able to re-start in September, 2021 and our clients were so pleased to be back a er a long 18 months. Waitrose in Hythe sponsored our two Christmas Sunday Lunch Parties in December, 2021 with a very kind gi voucher for £300, which bought us everything we needed. We would not be able to provide all these vital services without the hard work and dedication of our sta , our wonderful volunteers and also the support of our local Enjoying a delicious meal together at one of the Sunday Lunch Christmas Parties HYTHE HUDDLE Family Matters at Hythe URC are pleased to announce they are able to welcome people back to Hythe Huddle, the drop in support group for people living with dementia and their carers. ey meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm at Cornerstone URC, Hythe SO45 6BR. Activities are planned throughout the year. 2nd February – Folk Active – folk dancing and live music; 2nd March – Buskerteers Group; 6th April – Easter Bonnet making cra s; 4th May – Retro Rita - singer; 1st June – Melody Makers – singing group; 6th July – Amanda Parsons - singer.
