From my perspective as a Financial Planner, it’s a really key question. It’s ok gathering all of the ‘hard nancial data’, income, debt, assets, pensions etc but it’s also important to understand key dates and targets in someone’s life. When is the mortgage due to nish? When will the children no longer be nancially dependant? When would you like to retire? All of this information is really important.
