A further donation of £5000 from the Fawley site to the Blue Lamp Trust will help it to carry on its aim of protecting residents from crime, fraud and domestic violence. Bobby Scheme fitters Pete Lemon and Mark Scovell with the ExxonMobil sponsored van And it means that since 2012, when ExxonMobil Fawley first started supporting the Trust’s Bobby Scheme, it has given more than £40,000 to the project. e Blue Lamp Trust was established in 2010 by local businesses working alongside the police and re service, and its Bobby Scheme helps to keep elderly residents safe in their own homes by using police-vetted tters to install audible glass guard alarms, locks, spyholes, and door chains. ey also t smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and carry out crime prevention and re safety surveys. In addition, the tters provide advice on how to recognise and avoid scams and computer fraud. e service is completely free. ExxonMobil Fawley’s ‘above and beyond’ support of the scheme means it is a platinum level sponsor, entitling it to additional bene ts, including driver training. eresa Pratt, CEO at the Blue Lamp Trust, said: “The Blue Lamp Trust has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with ExxonMobil and we’re delighted they’ve chosen to continue supporting our work through the Bobby Scheme for another year. It has been both challenging and rewarding to write about the three countries that make up our area: our landscape, people and culture all shaped by our history. We celebrate our diversity and the contribution made to our countries by the many groups and individuals who have made their home here. We use the Bible text ‘I know the plans I have for you’ from Jeremiah to re ect on just some of the issues facing us today: poverty, domestic abuse and disability, nding hope in di cult situations and encouragement in the help we can give to each other.
