All are welcome. Some members have other makes of classics such as Ford, Land Rover, Morris, Riley and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the range of vehicle manufacturers to complement their Austin A30/35 models. e club is in the unique position of owning Austin Motor Spares Service Ltd, which holds a vast range of highly valued stock, possibly the largest in the world. Members enjoy a friendly, social atmosphere at the monthly meetings. Every meeting includes a ra e. ere are lm nights, quizzes, speakers on various topics and club drive days. e club also holds an Ian Abrahams who gave a talk entitled ‘A Tour Around Southampton’ using slides of F.G.O. Stuart postcards, the Edwardian photographer and publisher. Ian is a club member and a donation was given to the Bitterne Local History Society. e talk was enjoyed by all and many members were able to identify the locations of the postcard images. e group welcomed two new guests, one joined that evening. e other said “I will be back.” Both went home with a ra e prize. At the 10th March meeting there was a car related lm night. e next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 14th April 7.30pm , at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Rd, SO40 7GH. Music at Beaulieu Music at Beaulieu’s second concert of 2022 will be given on Saturday 26th March by the talented Italian pianist Axel Trolese. Born in 1997, he now holds degrees from the National Superior Conservatory of Paris and a diploma from the Monteverdi Conservatory of Cremona. He has published a book on Albeniz, whose El Corpus Christi en Sevilla will be included in this recital. His rst visit to Music at Beaulieu was in 2018 when he delighted their audience with his performance and it is with the greatest pleasure they look forward to his return. In addition to the piece by Albeniz he will include works by Chopin, Scriabin and Ravel. Music at Beaulieu concerts are held at Beaulieu Abbey Church and start at 7pm. ey continue to take the cautious approach to the risks of COVID-19, so for the time being the doors will open at 6.45pm; concerts will last approximately one hour without an interval and they ask that masks are worn (unless medical exemption can be shown) and social distancing is observed.
