WHAT’S NEW AT WATER LANE DENTAL? by Dr Susan Phillips, Owner and Principal Dentist Water Lane Dental, Totton During the covid pandemic we have remained open as much as possible o ering general dental services to our existing patients and have welcomed many new ones. We have done all we can to operate in a safe and secure manner for our patients and sta and thankfully it looks like we are now coming out of those trying times, so it is almost business as usual. If you are looking for a new dentist then you will be very welcome to see one of our four experienced dentists. During this last year we have welcomed a few new members to our team and I would like this opportunity to introduce them and their services to you. Beth Trueman, Dental therapist, BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. I rst met Beth when she came to work for me as a trainee dental nurse in 2015. I mentored Beth through her dental nursing quali cation and then proudly watched her being accepted on the very competitive dental therapist degree at Portsmouth University. As a dental therapist Beth is able to work independently helping you to achieve and maintain excellent oral health. Much of Beth’s work will be very similar to a dental hygienist and she will be working alongside our very experienced hygienist Lisa Brown. Beth is also able to provide all types of llings and complete care for children’s teeth and we will soon be launching a children’s dental plan – watch this space! Dr Konstantinos Loukas DMD MSc, PhD Researcher UCL Eastman London, ITI, ADI, Straumann Mentor Dr Loukas has recently joined our team to provide dental implants. As dental implants are becoming a much more routine and requested aspect of general dentistry, I felt it would bene t our patients if we could o er these. A er extensive research I invited Dr Loukas to join our team. Following quali cation in 2000 Dr Loukas has completed extensive post-graduate training in the eld of prosthetic dentistry and implantology, with a focus on complex cases. I am con dent that with his experience and expertise he will be an excellent addition to our team. We have also welcomed Scott Young an associate dentist and Steve Martin a clinical denture technician to the team. For more information visit: www.waterlanedental. co.uk or call: 023 8086 6555.
