As a sign that things are slowly getting back to normal, Romsey Dementia Action Group (ROMDAG) are putting together a week of activities suitable for those with Dementia and their carers. is will include an ‘Information Day’ at Romsey Town Hall on Tuesday 17th May from 10am to 1pm. On Friday 20th May members of Greenbuttercup CIC are holding a ‘Jubilee Tea’, with a small exhibition of photos of the Queen in Romsey and Coronation/Jubilee memorabilia; plus bunting-making. e event will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm with cream teas available for a donation. e event is open to anyone who is interested in the activities Greenbuttercup CIC provide for those living with Dementia in the Romsey area. Personal foot care is particularly important for older people as good foot health can reduce pain or discomfort, improve con dence, quality of life and independence. Healthy feet can also help people to remain physically active, allowing them to get out and about in their local community and increase their energy levels and general zest for life. Importantly, neglecting personal foot care needs can contribute to falls, which might otherwise be avoided. anks to a grant from the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation, and a generous discount from KJ’S Roomy Footwear in Hythe, Age Concern New Forest will be able to o er new slippers to the clients of their regular local foot clinics this winter. Free online groups are taking place to help people in Southampton and around the South living with arthritis to manage their condition. e next group meeting, organised by UK charity Arthritis Action, will take place on Wednesday 20th April at 2pm, with further meetings planned every six weeks. e online groups are held over Zoom, catering to those who still may not be comfortable socialising in-person with others. e meetings o er a safe and friendly environment for people living with arthritis to speak with each other, learn from one another and share their stories, questions and tips. ere are over 10 million people living with some form of arthritis in the UK, making it the leading cause of pain and disability nationwide.
