More recently, the Haskins West End team raised £5,600 in 2021 for Mountbatten Hampshire through various fundraising events including ra es and quiz nights. e team also sold knitted eggs to customers, in addition to organising collections to raise funds. Over the past 10 years, the money raised through various fundraising initiatives, events and collections, has funded Mountbatten Hampshire’s support services that are o ered to those with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Becky McGregor, Director of Operations at Mountbatten Hampshire, said: “The support we have received from Haskins and their customers over the last 10 years has helped ensure we continue to provide and grow our services when they are needed most. “Thank you to everyone who has supported us - your donations really do make a difference.” Haskins West End chose to extend its support of Mountbatten Hampshire last year due to the essential work the hospice has done to help the relatives of some of West End’s employees and customers. Sophie Menjou, West End’s Customer Service Leader, said: “Each year we look to make a difference and help a local cause by selecting them as our chosen charity. Members of our team here at Haskins West End have had first-hand experience of the amazing work the hospice already does, so we wanted to help them in return by choosing to support Mountbatten Hampshire as our official charity partner for the past 10 years. “The last two years have been difficult for everyone. Despite this, the brilliant fundraisers from Mountbatten Hampshire remained positive, carrying out their fantastic work. GOOD NEWS At the AGM of Totton & District Gardeners’ Society six members volunteered to serve on the Committee, and positions of Chairman, Treasurer and Show Secretary were filled. ey have joined with the existing Secretary and Programme Secretary to form a full Committee. ey are so pleased that now the meetings held in Totton 3 Score Club hall will continue on the 2nd Wednesday of each month , starting at 7.30pm. e speaker on Wednesday 13th April will be for a talk by Pip Bensley titled ‘Road to Winchester (Cathedral Flower Festival)’. A Summer Show is planned for Saturday 13th August with hopes of a Spring Show in March 2023.
