Est., Hythe 023 8084 0163 Send your local news to The Editor, The Herald, 2 High Street, Hythe SO45 6AH Classic Car Club – Membership Boost The Southampton and New Forest Group of the Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club would like to invite potential new members that are owners of any make of classic car, not forgetting those enthusiasts who love them but don’t have one of their own, to come and meet the club members with a view to joining. All are welcome. Some members have other makes of classics such as Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes, M.G., Morris, Riley and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the range of vehicle manufacturers to complement their Austin A30/35 models. e club is in the unique position of owning Austin Motor Spares Service Ltd, which holds a range of highly valued stock, possibly the largest in the world. Members enjoy a friendly, social atmosphere at the monthly meetings. Every meeting includes a ra e. ere are lm nights, quizzes, speakers on various topics and club drive days. e club also holds an annual auction in aid of the local Honeypot children’s charity. e March meeting started as usual with club business. en there was a break for tea, co ee and biscuits. e meeting continued with the chairman showing two lms which were enjoyed by everyone. e group welcomed two new members. e club members said they would like to thank the team at the Herald for their continuing support reporting Mick’s Austin 7 club activities which has helped to boost membership. Particular thanks went to Donna, the leaving editor, for her support. At the April meeting members have been asked to bring in unusual items for the group to discuss and identify. e club will be holding a club drive day on April 24th when members will be driving their classic cars on a set route. e next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 14th April at 7.30pm , at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands If you have been affected by Stroke, go along to the Stroke Café which takes place monthly at Oakhaven Wellbeing’s drop-in Coates Centre on the second Wednesday of the month from 2pm until 4pm. Meet Stroke Association sta and volunteers and nd friendly peer support, information and advice over a cuppa. No appointment is necessary. e next café takes place on Wednesday 13th April. e Coates Centre, located in the grounds of Oakhaven Hospice, Lower Pennington Lane, Lymington SO41 8ZZ, is part of the services and support o ered by Oakhaven Wellbeing. Anyone living across the Waterside, Totton and surrounding areas and the New Forest can access these services; you do not need a referral or be known to Oakhaven Hospice.
