Trevor has extensive commercial experience and most recently held the position of Retail Development and Visitor Services Manager at the Tank Museum in Bovington. Having also previously co-founded a multi-store retail business and owned and managed his own community bookstore in Ringwood, Trevor brings a wealth of skills to the Heritage Centre, not least in enhancing customer experiences and in developing innovative events. Chair of Trustees, the Hon Mrs Mary Montagu-Scott, said: “I am delighted that Trevor Johnson has accepted the position of Centre Manager. He brings with him invaluable experience in commercial, retail, and the visitor services sector. His skills in managing and motivating others will be a huge asset to the New Forest Heritage Centre. All the trustees are looking forward to working with him in the next exciting phase for the Centre.” Trevor joins at a time when the New Forest Heritage Centre is turning its attention to its long-term aim of transforming into an inspiring and engaging cultural hub for the New Forest. “I have been made to feel so welcome since joining the Heritage Centre and I have been hugely impressed with the ambitions and intent that my colleagues and the trustees have to build further with exciting plans. I am looking forward to contributing to this with many commercial ideas to benefit both the Centre and the community,” said Trevor. Trevor replaces Kath Walker who recently le the Heritage Centre to take up the role of Museum Director at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester. Families and individuals can also get free litter picking equipment and advice on their clean up when they sign up as a New Forest Ambassadors with the New Forest National Park Authority. Find out more at: www.newforestnpa.gov . uk/nfambassadors New Forest Ambassador Running until the 10th April , it covers the entire New Forest District, including local villages and towns, the Forest, and the coast. e initiative is part of the national Great British Spring Clean from Keep Britain Tidy, which this year asks people to join the #BigBagChallenge and pledge to pick up as much litter as you can. Make your pledge by visiting www.keepbritaintidy. org and choose New Forest District Council (NFDC) so organisers can see how many bags are collected across the New Forest. NFDC can lend litter grabbers and hi-vis jackets, for organised litter picking events of up to 30 volunteers. It will supply rubbish sacks and arrange to collect the waste a er the litter pick. As much waste as possible will be recycled. To register your litter pick and get more information visit: www.newforest.gov. e NatWest Mobile Branch comes to Hythe on a Monday afternoon from 1.30pm to 2.15pm . Customers can also visit their nearest branch located at Romsey Road, Shirley open Monday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm. MOBILE BANKING Forestry England and NFDC are also working together t h r o u g h o u t March and April to carry out litter picking along 100 kilometres of Forest roadside verges. Local people are strongly advised not to put themselves at risk and therefore not litter pick along any road verges.
