As the season enters its nal stages the men’s 1st team nd themselves on top of Hampshire Division 1 with 3 games le to play and only 1 point above local rivals Tottonians 2XV. As the season starts to come to a close the coaching sta are already looking forward to the season ahead and how we can continue the amazing success and growth Fawley Rugby Club has seen in the last few years at both senior and junior level. For the 22/23 season the Fawley men’s section of the club will be looking to eld a strong 1XV and 2XV on a weekly basis as well as a monthly Vets team xture and of course our ever-growing walking rugby team will be looking to take on some local teams throughout the season. Whether you have never played a game of rugby before or are looking to get back into it we have a welcoming and fun environment for any level. With a brand-new clubhouse and amazing facilities just around the corner as well as a thriving social scene there is no better place on the Waterside to get t, have fun and play some competitive sport. Come and join the fastest growing rugby club in Hampshire – Rugby on the Waterside for all! ere is still time this season to join Fawley RFC for senior training every Tuesday evening at 7pm opposite Gang Warily leisure centre or join the walking rugby team every Thursday at 7.30pm . Beginners are always welcome as are veterans of the game. ey will also be running summer touch rugby every Tuesday a er the season has nished so keep an eye out for that. Of course, our junior teams are also always on the lookout for players aged 4-16 and look out for news on a new Colts team for the new season. NEW FOREST GOLF CLUB SENIORS MARCH MONTHLY MEDAL 37 New Forest Golf Club Seniors competed on Tuesday 8th March 2022 - in their rst trophy competition of the 2022 season. With some excellent scores in both divisions, competition was intense. Steve Waterman won the Division 1 medal with nett 63, while Division 2 winner Phil Kilburn’s nett 61 was way ahead of the rest of the eld. Division 1: 1st Steve Waterman – nett 63, 2nd Phil Walker – nett 65 (back 9 nett 32), 3rd Ivor Griffiths – nett 65 (back 9 nett 33). Division 2: 1st Phil Kilburn – nett 61, Left to right, medal winners Steve Waterman and Phil Kilburn 2nd Harry Maitland – nett 65, 3rd Terry Jones – nett 66. BRAMSHOTT HILL SENIORS RESULTS Monday 28th February and the news was not good. e weather gremlins had been doing their worst with wind and rain over several days. Trees had been blown down and the Dibden Golf Course was covered in debris. However due to the e orts of the MyTime ground sta 18 holes of the course were open but no trolleys or buggies were allowed. is deterred several Bramshott Hill Seniors from taking up the challenge, carrying golf clubs for eighteen holes takes some e ort. Despite this, 26 players faced up to the ordeal and set o to play a non- qualifying Stableford game. Under the circumstances some very good scores were returned which made the e ort worthwhile. e results were as follows: Division 1: 1st Barry Walker, 2nd Paul Wastell, 3rd John Manning; Division 2: 1st John Bailey, 2nd Ron Gooding, 3rd Dave Kellaway. Monday 7th March and although no rain was forecast, the course at Dibden was too wet to allow trolleys or buggies. erefore, all players had to carry their clubs over the whole eighteen holes. is deterred several players but the usual stalwarts prevailed and twenty- seven players took to the course for a Stableford non- quali er game.
