School, college and university students will already know that time is running out and revision strategies now need extra planning. However, it is not only academic exams that can create anxiety and panic. Many a learner driver dreads test day and most people worry about job interviews. Much of the anxiety is caused by the thought that the examiners and interviewers are trying to uncover what you don’t know, rather than providing opportunities for you to demonstrate your knowledge. Unfortunately, some people nd test situations create so much anxiety that they forget all the things they do know. Hypnotherapy teaches special relaxation techniques that can help you control anxiety and remain calm and feel con dent at testing times. Mindful about Stress LIVING AFTER LOSS ‘Living A er Loss’ is a group that is open to all, and a free Bereavement Support Group provided in Partnership with the Red and Green Practice, Hythe and Black eld Patient Participation Group, Waterside Health Centre. Going along is an opportunity to meet others who have experienced loss, to talk and share in a safe environment. e team, led by Dot Croall, will be on hand to listen, and support you, and provide information on useful resources. Tea, co ee and snacks will be provided, and you are welcome to come and go at any time that suits you. Join them on the 2nd Monday of the month from 2pm to 4pm , at the Lighthouse Community Church, A326, Hardley Green. Learning Mindfulness can help you become more aware of your emotions and thoughts as the techniques help you focus your thoughts, feelings and sensations in the present moment rather than dwelling in the past or imagining the future; learning these techniques can help you reduce stress. If you are unsure whether Mindfulness would help you, then why not go along to a taster session which o ers an opportunity to learn about mindfulness and its bene ts, with an introduction to mindfulness techniques. Visitors to the Café will discover a warm welcome and a supportive environment for re ection and conversation; a place to nd mutual support and encouragement. e kettle is always on with tea, co ee and a variety of cakes (including a gluten-free option) served by a friendly team of volunteers. The next Café session will be on Monday 9th May .
