Or do you fancy attending the event and becoming a Dragon yourself? e deadline for applications for the next Soup Dragons event is Friday 20th May with pitches to the ‘Dragons’ taking place on Thursday 26th May at 7.30pm, at the Parish Hall in Hythe. If you have an idea for a community project that needs a little money or are you looking to start up a small business and need some money for advertising, or a place to sell, or to pay for the rst samples, a prototype of your invention. Or you have recently started a small business that needs a boost? en ‘Soup Dragons’ is for you! To apply you will need to complete the online application form on: hytheanddibden.gov.uk and prepare a 4 minute talk outlining your project, how you plan to use the money, costings of your project and what you hope to achieve, you cannot use PowerPoint but you can bring along plans, pictures or samples. e audience of Dragons can then ask you 4 questions. A er all the presentations the dragons and participants will enjoy a bowl of soup and a roll together, the Dragons will then vote for the pitch they think should win the Dragons Prize Pot. £5 from each Dragon ticket sold will go towards the Dragons Prize Pot awarded to the winner. In addition to the prize pot, if appropriate the winner will also get a free pitch on the Hythe market The Guide Dogs would like to say a well-deserved ‘thank you’ to everyone for saving and bringing all your old stamps into the Herald office in Hythe. We’ve received an update from Tony Pond, who sorts through the stamps and takes them to auction; the last collection raised an amazing £256.25 (including gift aid) for the charity. Keep on Collecting your Stamps! It costs Guide Dogs around £50,000 to support a guide dog from birth to retirement and they rely solely on donations so please help Tony carry on raising funds for the Guide Dogs charity by dropping o your old stamps into the yellow box in the Herald O ce, your generosity is much appreciated.
