A er each speaker they have tea and biscuits and usually the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest group such as gardening, discussion, history, skittles and much more. ey usually organise a luncheon once a month and a holiday once a year. COFFEE & CHAT Every Thursday 10am until 12noon ALL WELCOME Hampton Lane, Blackfield SO45 1XA LIONS BOOKSTALL Romsey Lions are back holding their regular book stalls in e Cornmarket, Romsey. eir next book sales will be on Saturday 14th May and Saturday 11th June from 9am to 3pm. ey welcome donations of good quality paperbacks for the stall and also gi s for their bric-a-brac section. Donations can be taken along to the stall on the day of the sales or alternatively you can call 0344 963 2463 to arrange for a collection to be made. Lions are both men and women, and there are no age restrictions to membership other than you must be over 18. ey are approachable people from many walks of life, and they enjoy an active social life. A few hours a month are all it takes to help others less fortunate in the community. Colorado Adventure Railway Correspondence and Travel Society (RCT) and Mid Hants Railway, Solent Branch meetings are held in association with Mid Hants Railway – Southampton and Waterside Group. Meetings are held at the Eastleigh Railway Institute, Romsey Road Eastleigh SO50 9FE and commence at 7.30pm. e room, on the rst oor (sorry no disabled access), is usually open from 7pm. A bar is available for refreshments. eir next meeting is on Wednesday 18th May for a talk by David Brace titled ‘Colorado Adventure’. David Brace covers 3 trips made between 2010 and 2012 to the Rockies, New Mexico and Wyoming. A donation of £3 is usual to help with the costs of the speaker and room hire. Non-members are very welcome at their meetings. Organised by 4th Eling Sea Scouts to raise funds for the Scout group admission is £1 in advance or £1.50 on the day. Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 2.15pm to 4.40pm in the Main Hall at St Andrew’s Centre, Dibden Purlieu. Visitors and new members are always welcome. GARDENING CAKE SALE A cake sale raising money for NEW Beginnings Children Charity is taking place at Unit 28, New Forest Enterprise Centre, Totton SO40 9LA, on Saturday 21st May from 10am to 3pm. As well as delicious cakes and tea and co ee, there will be tombola’s, ra es and gi s for sale. New Beginnings Children’s charity helps to raise funds for the Neonatal Unit at Southampton’s Princess Ann Hospital. Waterside Veterans Coffee Club e newly established Waterside Veterans Co ee Club (WVCC) is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am at Fawley Royal British Legion, Exbury Road, Black eld, SO45 1XD, with their next meeting scheduled for Saturday 21st May . All veterans, serving personnel, their families and dependents are invited to attend and enjoy the usually good humour, refreshments and occasional visiting guests.
